Spot guidance

Dolomites are well known for the generous thermals and the steep rock faces where we will be flying. The take off will be chosen in order to suit the skills of the group. You can expect the typical Alpine flying with conditions to match the place according to the season. The flying can range from easy top-to-bottom flights to H&F jurney walley to valley connections. The high, steep rocky walls provide a good thermal source for exciting flights and the breathtaking landscape will inspire you for some of the best flying a paraglider can ever aspire. Marvelous grassy spot on summit or by fabulous rocky dolomite walls, Col Rodella be our take-off spot.

The Destination

Italy's dramatic rocky rooftop, the Dolomites, offers some of the best mountain thrills in Europe. The bold, light-gray cliffs and spires flecked with snow, above green, flower-speckled-meadows and beneath a blue sky, offer a powerful, unique, and memorable mountain experience. This place comprises a mountain range in the northern Italian Alps, numbering 18 peaks which rise to above 3,000 metres. It features some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the World, with vertical walls, sheer cliffs and a high density of narrow, deep and long valleys. Val di Fassa will be our base, and you will easily reckon why it is considered one of the most beautiful locations in the World. It's position is strategic for a variety of sports activities, like: MTB, rock climbing, via ferrata, hiking, paragliding and base jumping. Last but not least we have to mention the italian cuisine!

The Experience

During the First World War, the front line between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces ran through the Dolomites and there was fierce mine warfare. Many people visit the Dolomites to climb the vie ferrate, protected paths created during the First World War. A number of long distance footpaths run across the Dolomites, which are called "alte vie" (i.e., high paths). Such long trails, which are numbered from 1 to 8, require at least a week to be walked through and are served by numerous "Rifugi" (huts).

Hike & Fly

Using my experience as Mountain Guide i can lead paraglider pilots to discover the Dolomites. I’m able to guide individuals or groups depending on the requested services. We will be based in this amazing area and climb up to some famous mountains according the conditions for the day and to your ambition. I will be able to recommend when and where to fly over these majestic mountains according to the weather conditions and of the pilots skills. We will start early morning and climb to one of the surrounding peaks. After a good trekking uphill, we will then comeback to the valley on an easy glide. We will always have a briefing about the flying sites (take-off & landing), weather forecast and flyability of the day. I will then lead the climb and the flying, be it a long xc or local flying. One of our options is to spend the nights in one of these huts as we rest from a nice flying day. I reccommend to take light gear for a better and comfortable hike.
