The Destination

Italy's dramatic rocky rooftop, the Dolomites, offers some of the best mountain thrills in Europe. The bold, light-gray cliffs and spires flecked with snow, above green, flower-speckled-meadows and beneath a blue sky, offer a powerful, unique, and memorable mountain experience. This place comprises a mountain range in the northern Italian Alps, numbering 18 peaks which rise to above 3,000 metres. It features some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the World, with vertical walls, sheer cliffs and a high density of narrow, deep and long valleys. The Dolomites are renowned for skiing in the winter months and mountain climbing, hiking, cycling, and BASE jumping, as well as paragliding and hang gliding in summer and late spring/early autumn During the First World War, the front line between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces ran through the Dolomites and there was fierce mine warfare. There are now open-air war museums at Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Mount Lagazuoi. Many people visit the Dolomites to climb the vie ferrate, protected paths created during the First World War. A number of long distance footpaths run across the Dolomites, which are called "alte vie" (i.e., high paths). Such long trails, which are numbered from 1 to 8, require at least a week to be walked through and are served by numerous "Rifugi" (huts). One of our options is to spend the nights in one of these huts as we rest from a nice flying day.

The Experience

I’m able to guide individuals or groups depending on the requested services. We will be based in this amazing area and will use the most suitable spot for the day. I will be able to recommend when and where to fly over these majestic mountains in reference to the weather conditions and of the pilots skills. I can offer several types of guidance according to your will. Or if you prefer i can plan a full XC course for the days you will spend in this area.

Cross Country: We will set an cross country flight, where i will brief you about how the local meteo work. Valley winds, house thermals, routes and turning points will be well explained.

Side Activities Our plus to be a IFMGA Mountain Guide make possible, in case of no flyable weather conditions, to use the day for enjoy outdoor activities, like: rock climbing, via ferrata, hiking, mountain biking.

Other activities

Our advantage, in case of bad weather (non-flyable day), we will be able to provide alternative activities, like:

  • Hiking
  • Rock climbing
  • Via ferrata
  • Mountain e-bike

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included but i can suggest some nice places to stay, depending on your preference. If we decide to stay up in the mountain there is a possibility to use the cozy mountain huts on the peaks. Alternatively we will choose a nice hotel on the valleys, and use it as our basecamp.
