Our trip is an opportunity to see the different corners of this wonderful country and fly with the eagles in strong mountain streams. Our paragliding launch places are located at altitudes from 1000 to 2800 meters, with the cloud base reaching up to 5000 meters. We will fly small routes in the company of an experienced instructor and connoisseur of these places. You can expect quite active mountain thermic conditions. According to your experience level we will adjust the type of flying, and use the most suitable time of the day for our goals.

The Destination

Georgia is a small country, but there is a chance to experience all four seasons, cold and snow on the mountains and the hot summer on the plains. Georgia is located between the mountain ranges of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus. It borders Russia in the north, Azerbaijan and Armenia to its east and southeast. Turkey is in the south and in the west it is washed by the Black Sea. The capital of Georgia is the beautiful old city of Tbilisi. This is where our journey starts. We begin our tour with excursions around Tbilisi and getting to know the culture and traditional cuisine of Georgia. The distance between the regions is from 150 to 600 km. Many of the places are only reachable by an all-wheel drive car. Therefore, 10 days allows us to experience two or three regions. If you plan a trip for 14 days, we can show you three or four regions, 20 days would take you through all the five regions and we will visit additional places. Georgia is full of amazing sights such as canyons, waterfalls, caves, mountain lakes and much more. In addition to flying, we really want to show you these sights. One popular option is to fly in tandem with an instructor. You may need this to get acquainted with a new location or to improve your skill level. If you’re travelling with a companion, we can also fly in tandem with them.

The Experience

The participants of the program will experience heartwarming hospitality, delicious national cuisine, untouched nature and beautiful flying sites. we have five main regions for flights and each region has several spots and a huge number of attractions (waterfalls, lakes, ancient villages and fortresses, its climate and unique landscapes). We will visit a site for testing paragliding equipment and ground handling before we fly to assess your level of experience and further choice of weather and flight locations. You will also pass a short theoretical course on behavior in emergency situations on flights. Our goal is to minimize possible risks and keep you safe. You will have a SIM card for local communication, but if you are an ambitious XC pilot, then we recommend grabbing a SPOT device.

Program

The capital of Georgia is the beautiful old city of Tbilisi. This is where our journey starts. We begin our tour with excursions around Tbilisi and getting to know the culture and traditional cuisine of Georgia.

Our next goal is the mountains of Kazbek. This giant rises to 5 047 meters, its top is always covered with snow. There is an ancient Christian temple, ancient defense towers and several paragliding spots at the foot of the mountain. We will travel to these places for several days, on our jeep and of course to fly. If you love to hike and fly we can lead a hike to spots not reachable by jeep and then fly away from there.

Next, we will go to the Zhinvali water reservoir. Here we will see the ancient fortress Ananuri and fly in this picturesque corner of Georgia.

Our next goal is the one of the most remote regions of Georgia, Svaneti or Tusheti. We will choose the location according to the weather, your qualification and your preference. Both these regions are unique in their remoteness from civilization. Thanks to the isolation in the mountains, ancient traditions, architecture and ecology were preserved there. In a calm, meditative setting, we will explore the ancient sites and fly in these regions. We will see ancient Georgian villages with their fortress-and-tower houses, taste delicious traditional food made from local, organic products and enjoy the beauty of untouched nature.

Accommodation

We will stay in comfortable hotels along the way. A standard package includes a double room with common facilities. Breakfast included. At your request we can spend the night in the mountains with tents, arrange a barbecue – an old tradition for camping in the Caucasus. We provide the camping equipment. No additional costs but preliminary confirmation required

I am a professional paraglider tandem pilot, skydiver, climber. I have been living in Georgia mountains since 2016. I know the mountains of the Caucasus and I want to show them to you. I fly routes in the mountains on a paraglider. I fly on the motor and acrobatic flights. My record is set on a tandem paraglider 5200 meters above the mountain Kazbek. Every year I spend several hundred hours in the sky. I will be glad to fly with you.
