Greda take off is located in Bitelić, Hrvace municipality. It tops at 810m with a 400m drop and it's suitable for Southern winds. The landing site is a spacious field suitable for PG and HG pilots' landing. As alternative we have Svilaja, located in Hrvace municipality for N/NE orientation and a height difference of 900m. Take off is accessible partially by asphalt and white road of good quality on the opposite side of Greda. We fly in all conditions except when the forecast announces the infamous Bura! Omiš take off is recently re-opened as a fully-fledged PG take off in a private ownership of Club Pegaz. All pilots must contact the operator and service provider to the pilots: Agency DAL MARE (in Old town Omiš)at +385 95 577 3146 (Josip). Omiš take off is easily accessible via 300 m long hiking trail on a steep slope of rocky Omiš Dinara range. It is suitable for West wind direction (preferably "mistral" warm sea breeze, similar to phoen in valleys). Take off category/classification is C (intermediate to experienced pilots). The PG site is great for acro flying, cliff soaring and with the take off wind of 3m/s, you can have a filled day with PG experience enjoying beautiful sights of Cetina river, Omiš Dinara range and Adriatic sea riviera.

The Destination

Hrvace (Dalmatia county in Croatia) is s PG destination with 2 take offs: Greda and Svilaja. FAI 2 XC have been organized here successfully for decades. The destination has many natural interests: lakes, rivers, natural water springs and only 40 km away from Split with major airport (SPU). Lots of mountain ridges, cultivated soil that offer lots of flying sites. if you are a pilot and brining in your family or partner along, there are lots of others activities your company can enjoy in. In August, there are several major events in immediate vicinity to Hrvace. And every year, we organize PG XC Dalmatian Open - a FAI 2 race (May, June or July). We are inevitable spot for eople searching for relaxing vacation, adrenaline excitement and getting away from commercial world.

The Experience

Our Paragliding Village is located in Hrvace, a village 40km north from Split (major airport!). It is located in rural area, almost secluded from all urban and daily commodiities. It has running water and electricity, though; however, you are priviledged to enjoy waking up to the tranquility and birds chirping at the crack of dawn. Pristine water in the creek in immediate vicinity of the robinson camp ground and the thick evergreen forrest surrounded by the cherry trees give this camp a unique position. The accommodaion consists of 5 small wooden houses (chalets) big enough for 2 pax and a sleeping inflatable mattress (provided for guests). The guests need to bring their own sleeping bag or linen. Some 30 m from the accommodation is a toilet, and some 50 meters from accommodation there is a tavern where we serve breakfast (and lunch and dinner, only upon request). We offer the flycard to the take off for a small fee.

Besides paragliding, the guests can enjoy other adveture activites: river or lake canoe-safari, Zip line, wall climbing, paintball, roping poligon, archery, human foosball. Our guests can indulge in local authentic food: home made "uštipci" with goat/cow fresh cheese, prosciutto, "arambašići" with side dishes, trout brodetto with polenta, and local wine, homemade cherry/walnut brandy, cherry juice and local prducts like loose tea, honey. During summer season, on the 1st Sunday in August, there is a major event hosted by the town of Sinj and under the patronage of Presidet of Croatia - Sinjska alka. A week later, there is a pilgrimage in Sinj in honor of Miraculous Lady /Blessed Virgin Mary of Sinj.

Accommodation

There are 2 options for accommodation: An apartment for 6 or a wooden tent-like red-tiled roof tents. It consists of an inflatable double size mattress. There is no elecrictiy in the accommodation itself but battery-operated lights are available inside the accommodation. Toilet is available at 15 meter distance from the accommodation. Lake for swimming is 5km from the Village. Food is prepared fresh and from local and seasonal produce only upon request.

I'm one of the pioneers of paragliding in Cetina region consisting of Svilaja and Greda take offs. Since 1999 I have been actively participating in developping PG in my home region. I combine what I love and enjoy doing: Sports, healthy lifestyle and good local food. I have always had itchy feet and my desire to travel and meet unique and interesting people through sport and culture encounters go beyond a simple vacation. I live PG.
